Please take them off if you're in a confined space, like the Tube, or music shops. There's nothing more tedious than being nudged and bumped by a noddy with a bag on their back. You'll make no friends at all. Just returning home to blog how inexplicably mean the Brits were to you.

Also, on a more cautionary note, wearing rucksacks tells pickpockets and similar that you're a soft target. Don't make it too easy for them.
