Heaven

Heaven has been drawing in the clubbers beneath Charing Cross station for thirty years. Heaven: the club has been operating in the former wine cellars below Charing Cross for 30 years.
Amongst a veritable warren of chambers and tunnels beneath the mainline station, this former wine cellar plays perfect host to large-scale club nights.

Heaven is busy and queuing is to be expected. Despite its age it's shown no signs of flagging interest as far as its clientele are concerned. The main stage has played host to performances by The Eurythmics, Grace Jones, Kylie, Girls Aloud and Cher amongst many, many others. Following its recent takeover by G-A-Y, Heaven’s playlist has shifted away from deep house and electro underground to shiny-pop disco with which the new owners are synonymous.

Candy Bar

One of London's very few women-only venues, based in Soho, near Tottenham Court Road Tube. Candy Bar: Ladies only venue in north Soho. Not the largest bar in town and perhaps best to check whether anything's on, before paying the fee to enter the bar; but a good place to dip your toe in the water. There are plenty more clubs of course, but usually on select nights, dotted across the four corners of town.

Open 7 days a week from 5pm onwards.

The Edge

With four floors to choose from – a ground bar, a lounge bar, a piano bar and a club bar, The Edge: another venue offering different zones on different floors. The Edge has floor to suit your personality or perhaps just your mood on that evening. Food is served at lunctimes, of the bar-snack variety - paté, burger, fajita, etc.) but by night it's strictly a club zone.

Open: Mon-Sat, 12pm-1am, Sun: 12pm-10.30pm

Village Soho

The Village is like several venues rolled into one, arranged over three floors. A smart/casual venue with a Village Soho: three different bars over three different floors.boudoir theme bar upstairs, a bar on the ground floor and another down below, this is a place to stop off for a quick drink or stay and make a night of it. One of the oldest gay bars in town and still moving forward with the times.

Mon-Sat: 3pm-1am, Sun: 3pm-11:30pm

Compton's of Soho

One of the most popular spots in the centre of Soho's gay village, Compton's - a good drop-in venue before a night out.Compton's has a larger bar downstairs with DJ and quiet bar upstairs with seats and tables. Bar staff are friendly and a good mixed mixed crowd, being particularly appealing to those who just turn up rather than plan all their nights out. All drinks are £1.50 on Mondays so it can be very busy with bags of atmosphere - which let's face it, very few places have on that night of the week.
