Amused Moose

With three venues (two central, one north of Camden), Amused Moose, in addition to staging comedy acts, Amused Moose: improv and unannounced appearances are a feature.also host courses covering stand up, joke writing, sketches, improv, etc. Many acts test their jokes at the Soho branch and it's become popular place for pre-Edinburgh fringe material to be put to the audience test. They also like to host secret gigs, where someone like Stephen Merchant or Noel Fielding might take to the mic. unannounced.


 

The Chuckle Club

Held in Tutu's, King's College Student Union, the Chuckle Club has been staging the best comedy acts for over 20 years. Chuckle Club: big names often test their material here.In addition to the quality comedians it arracts it also has the cheapest bar prices in town. Shows are every Saturday when the club opens until 3am.

Shows start at 8:30pm.


 

Comedy Café

The Comedy Cafe is one of the few purpose built comedy clubs in London, situated in trend-alert Shoreditch. Comedy Cafe: an eating and comedy combined evening.Visitors are given a table for the evening where the eat, drink and watch the show. Perhaps not the line up of the Comedy Store, which has the cachet to draw the top names in stand up, it's nevertheless a popular venue with performers and public alike. Food is similar to the comedy store - burgers, felafel, etc. - perhaps it make you laugh, I don't know. Check ahead to make sure you're not turning up for a music night when you're expecting comedy.

Shows are Wednesday to Saturday, with music on Friday and Saturday until 1am.


 

The Comedy Store

The grandaddy - this comedy club has been in operation for 30 years and after many years in Comedy Store: premier comedy venue, with a late bar weekend bar after the shows.Leicester Square, relocated a few streets further west in Oxendon Street. It still offers the best in stand up on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, but don't sit near the front if you don't want to feature. Get up yourself on 'King Gong' shows, and steel the nerves with several drinks, as they're happy-hour prices all night. With bar food available and post show music at the weekend, the comedy store still offers world class comedy at reasonable prices. Laugh until it physically hurts - what's not to like?
