Cadogan Hall (pronounced cah-duggan, if you're from out of town) is a 900-seat concert hall on Sloane Terrace in Chelsea. Cadogan Hall: it's church acoustics make it an excellent live venue.Previously, the building was a church, but by 1996,  congregations had diminished so dramatically that the building fell into disuse.

Cadogan Hall was first opened in 1907 as a New Christian Science Church designed by Robert Fellowes Chisholm, who was the British Government's consultant architect in India. The style is Byzantine with eclectic touches of Roman and Indian architecture and the Celtic knot themes from the stained glass windows were devised by former Tiffany designer - Baron von Rosenkrantz.

The resident music ensemble at Cadogan Hall is the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra (RPO) and is the first permanent home for a London orchestra. It is also the home of the celebrated Brodsky Quartet. Cadogan Estates acquired the Hall in 2000 to safeguard its future. Through their connection with Opera Holland Park, Cadogan Estates also learnt that the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra was looking for a permanent base in London. So the two sides came together in a mutually conveCadogan Hall is in Chelsea, the West End of Londonnient manner.

The RPO was formed by Sir Thomas Beechem in 1946 and has been conducted by luminaries such as André Previn and Vladimir Ashkenazy (a personal favourite) and are renowned for their extensive touring. When in London they perform at the Cadogan Hall, The Royal Albert Hall or an annual series of concerts at the Royal Festival Hall, Southbank Centre.

Despite the size of the auditorium, the steep raking of the stalls and low gallery create an inclusive atmosphere for the listening audience, putting visitors in the centre of the performance. The Cadogan Hall has also recently become a venue for the Proms Chamber Music Series.

In addition to its classical repertoire, it also hosts pop, rock, jazz and world music and is another venue which benefits from crisp, bright acoustics. There are excellent food and drink facilities and likewise nearby, there are numerous good quality restaurants, bars and pubs (this is Chelsea after all).
