Bar Rumba

With a basement capacity of 450 and two bars it's been hosting shows and club nights for over 15 years including Bar Rumba: crowded and sweaty, but it's about the beats.some international DJ names including: Carl Cox, Masters at Work and Todd Terry. Bar Rumba's focus is on the music above all, so don't expect a salubrious venue - it's pokey and tired around the edges. The central location helps, but it's easy to walk past without noticing.


 

Ain’t Nothin’ But The Blues Bar

Authentic venue, tucked away from the bustle of Regent and Carnaby Streets, offering Blues seven nights of the week.  Ain't Nothin' But the Blues Bar - near Carnaby Street and a few doors down from the Clachan.A friendly, intimate atmosphere for musicians and Blues-lovers to mingle. Free entry before 8.30 on busy weekend nights and free all night from Sunday through to Wednesday. Operates an Open Mic. on Saturday afternoon and a Blues jam session on Sunday afternoon.


 

Ronnie Scott's

Legendary London jazz venue, where the big acts still play. Zoot Sims was the first transatlantic visitor, Ronnie Scotts: with an international reputation, many greats have played here.but many more followed including Lee Konitz, Sonny Rollins, Nina Simone, Buddy Rich, Ella Fitzgerald and Stan Getz. Jimi Hendrix also played his last gig here. The quality of the current line-ups reflect the club's international reputation. There's a bar and a-la-carte menu offering sharing snacks, or a full 3-course  dining menu. Jam sessions on a Wednesday night offer free entry before 8pm.


 

Pizza Express Jazz Club

In addition to offering the high-class pizza fare of its sister restaurants, this Soho venue also serves late night jazz of a similar quality. Pizza Express Jazz: Arrive early to secure a table, eat your pizza, then relax and watch the acts.Clean, friendly and obliging with a definitive relaxed atmosphere, it sounds like such an odd prospect, but works very well. Pre-booking is advised and the jazz is in the basement. You'll find the venue just off Oxford Street.

 

Jazz Café

A music venue, which began life in Stoke Newington, but moved to this site in the early nineties. Obviously it stages Jazz, Jazz Cafe: ofers Hip Hop, Reggae and other styles in addition to the Jazz programme.but also select Reggae, Hip Hop and World music acts.   Has a restaurant selling food of the gastro-pub variety at the upper end of the price bracket. Club capacity is around 350. With its intimate and friendly atmosphere, the likelihood of mingling with the musicians is high and the quality of the acts is A-list. Relaxed and effortless, you really should go.
