The Central Bar - The Royal Festival Hall
The real attraction at the Central Bar, Royal Festival Hall is the Riverside Terrace, so is best visited during the summer months. The views are
amongst the best to be found and you can find yourself enjoying the spacious surroundings, while marvelling at the herds moving along the Thames Path below.
The choice on offer is not extensive and there are places where the pace and service is more clipped, but on a sunny evening, get here early and watch the world go by from one of the best perches in the city.
The Central Bar and Royal Festival Hall are part of the Southbank Centre. An arts complex which has 3 main buildings (Royal Festival Hall, Queen Elizabeth Centre and Hayward Gallery). Most have visited at one time or another, but if you're planning to meet some friends in town for a drink, it's the kind of place that's sometimes overlooked in favour of a central pub.
Give it a whirl - there a few better places to watch the world go by, and take advantage of it before the shivering weather returns and outside is somewhere you endure - rather than want to be.
