Recent refurbishment has made this less of a traditional pub and more of an eatery with excellent beers, ales (and wines). A good range of fresh food (but not too extensive, that you wonder whether they have a fleet of freezers out back) are offered at some of the most reasonable prices in town. All the main courses are under £10, with most being well under. Has a very pleasant beer garden at the rear, with friendly efficient staff.
